ArchiVenture 2019 Summer Camp for Girls

Why aren't more young girls considering a career in architecture?  Perhaps because they've never been told they can.  Here's where we change that.  ArchiVenture 2019 Returning again for 2019 is our week long architecture adventure for girls ages 10 - 14.  Each day will filled with fun, hands-on activities and field trips designed to engage the future designers, planners, and architects in problem solving through an idea-plan-design-model process.  Last year, we visited the Octagon House, the National Building Museum, the Artechouse Museum and even toured part of DC on the DC Ducks Tour Van/Boat.  This year we have even more exciting trips planned! In addition to the field trips and workshops, the girls will have a small model of their design to keep as a reminder of what they can build with a plan.  Our goal is not to simply plant a seed for architecture but to provide them with tools they can use in any field they choose.   _________________________________________ Registration Info: The cost of the camp is $100 which includes a non-refundable registration fee.   Payment is due prior to the first day of camp.  Included in the cost are transporation expenses, supplies, lunch and snacks.  There are scholarships available for those who are eligible for the free/reduced lunch programs at their schools.   Once registered, you will receive the an email containing the camp packet of documents that must be completed before camp begins. Visit www.LittlePhoenixesFoundation.org for more information.
